The Five Major Tenets of Critical Race Theory
(1) the notion that racism is ordinary and not aberrational
In other words, racism is the normal in America and that when someone commits a racist act it should not be seen as one isolated event but as part of a larger system of racism in America.
(2) the idea of an interest convergence
(3) the social construction of race
(4) the idea of storytelling and counter-storytelling
(5) the notion that whites have actually been recipients of civil rights legislation
